Challenges of Universal Health Coverage in Nigeria: Urgent Action for Health System that Protects Everyone

The declaration of universal health coverage (UHC) as a sustainable development goal (SDG), in 2015 was global resolution to building world free diseases and disease-related deaths. is tandem with many other work frames the United Nations under chaperone World organization create healthier society. Hence, every country agreed pursue this mission part UN’s goals, targeting 2030 project finish line. Improving service outcomes depends on availability, accessibility, capacity healthcare system care providers deliver quality people-centred integrated care. In regard, Nigeria has adopted several approaches ensure implementation UHC even amidst enormous challenges. This article critically examined common but prominent factors beclouding attainment UHC, SDG Nigeria. Key such primary insurance schemes have been identified major concerns while few recommendations also prescribed improve existing structures.
